Thankful for the Field

Eric Nebola and His Kids'
success story

"I just wanted to share the exciting hunts that my kids had this year. Because of the cameras and some scouting we did this year we have grown to love the outdoors more and family time together. There were several mature deer that we had named from the months of trail cam pictures we had. "

Eric’s family had unforgettable moments in the field, with both of his kids harvesting incredible bucks stories made even more special thanks to their Spartan Cameras.

"Specifically to the hunt with my kids “Dozer” is who my daughter was able to take this year and made an amazing shot at 260 yards. It was intense as it will likely be the largest whitetail buck we have and I have been doing this since I was 12. He walked out onto a field and the Spartan camera sent us a picture instantaneously as we saw him. However, we still needed him to come in as he was out over 800 yards. She ended up making an amazing shot and this is her 4th deer and she is completely hooked on the outdoors and hunting as a family. She also learned to field-dress this deer and did a great job!

For my son, he was able to take “Hightower” in the heat of the rut. We sat in a ground blind with a decoy out in the field. He came out in the last 30 minutes of hunting time and was out at 240 yards. The problem was my son came down with a bad case of buck fever! He was shaking tremendously and we didn’t take the shot. The buck ended up walking off of the field checking does along the way. Right before he left the field I snort wheezed and rattled the horns to give it a try. To no avail. In 15 minutes or so he came back out however he was now at 400 yards which was too far out. We rattled again, and the buck came running and stopped 120 yards away from us facing the decoy, and right by a fence post so we couldn’t shoot yet again.   At this point, he heard us or caught wind of us and ran out to 300 yards and turned broadside.   I communicated to my son and he was ready now. I said he’s at 300 yards put the crosshairs at his shoulder and let it rip! Success and he put it right in the boiler room splitting the heart in two.

We love the Spartan cameras and the excitement it brings to the family!"

Tyler Webb’s
  Success Story

For the past two years, Tyler Webb has been running multiple Spartan GoCams, and his experience speaks for itself.

“I absolutely love these cameras and the quality,” Tyler said. “They’re by far the best cell cams I’ve ever used.”

This season, Tyler shared his story of how Spartan Cameras helped him tag an impressive buck.

“We had tons of photos and videos of this deer throughout September and October,” Tyler recalled. “Then, as expected, he disappeared in the first week of November. But on November 14th and 15th, my cameras showed the movement picking back up, bucks were cruising hard.”

On November 16th, Tyler headed back to his stand when the time and wind was right.

“Fortunately, he returned to the area as well and worked the same line of scrapes he did all October and I was blessed to get a shot on him and he died within sight. If not for these cameras, i may not have made the decision to visit this spot, but they gave me the info I needed to make a move in there.

Tyler’s story is one of many showing how Spartan Cameras give hunters a real edge not just in scouting, but in making smarter, more confident decisions in the field.

Brad Olinger’s Success Story

the journey to his 2024 Ohio buck began a year earlier, in the summer of 2023, when the deer first appeared on his farm. With four Spartan GoCams strategically placed around the property, Brandt quickly realized this buck wasn’t camera shy. The deer showed up almost daily in the food plot, often alongside another impressive buck.

“They got the simple names of the Big 8 and the Big 10,” Brandt said. “After talking with some buddies, we figured the Big 10 was only around three and a half years old, so I decided to pass on him in 2023 and focus on the Big 8.”

"I then spent the entire rest of the season trying to avoid the Big 10 and give him no reason to leave. He didn't. He was on my GoCams in the daylight probably 80% of last hunting season and was the most consistent deer I've ever watched. I watched him all season, knew when he dropped his sheds and found the match set after only an hour and half looking, then continued to watch him grow all summer."

It did take Brad a couple months to know for sure that he was actually watching the Big 10, because Big 10 had added several additional non-typical tines and was now carrying 15 scorable points. The buck name never changed though, he was still the Big 10. When Ohio’s 2024 bow season arrived, the Big 10 proved just as smart as he was consistent. He managed to elude Brandt during his first four sits. But on October 16th, Brad made a subtle move — just 30 yards from his original setup, and it made all the difference.

"Heading in for my 5th sit on October 16th, I couldn't help but wonder if either he or one of the other deer in the area somehow had me pegged and knew when I was in there despite having a bullet proof entry/exit and playing the wind. I decided to make a small move and see if that changed anything. I only moved about 30 yards, but that move sealed the deal. The food plot quickly loaded up with several does and little bucks. Then I watched a group of 9 does come out of the thicket and head towards the plot. 8 of them hung back in the woods about 15 yards in front of me, while the biggest one walked out into the plot and checked out the spot I'd been sitting in the first 4 sits."

Once Big 10 settled down, the other 8 came out. My hunch was right, one of them had figured me out, but my move was the right one and He was in perfect position.

"The next deer out of the thicket was the Big 10! With all the other deer at ease in the plot, he followed the script and walked a logging road out into the plot. He stepped out at 36 yards and that was all she wrote! A quick track job later and I finally got to lay my hands on him! He's my biggest buck to date with a gross score of 184-2/8"!"
