Goes Through Lithium Batteries Fast
Camera works pretty good, has decent pics and video, but sometimes it takes multiple tries to get the live stream to start probably works on first try 50% of the time. Sometimes new pics don’t come in till hours later when another pic is taken and sent then both will be sent together. I use this camera as a security camera, I live on a dead end road, to alert me of the occasional vehicles coming in. On an average day I will get around 20 to 24 pics, but sometimes only 2 and when I mow the lawn around 50. All in all I would consider that a pretty good working remote wireless camera. But my problem with the camera is that it goes through the lithium batteries!! Since March 1, 2024 I have gone through 36 lithium batteries as the camera takes 12! Plus I have bought and used for several weeks regular alkaline batteries and even have used rechargeable batteries till I could get new lithium ones. Here’s why I believe the camera uses up the batteries. The camera worked great till about mid May then it started sending status reports about every 13 minutes, that’s when it started going through the batteries fast and had to first start replacing them. I checked the message boards on their website and found guys saying just turn off the status report notifications, so I did that but the batteries still drained. Late June contacted support on the phone and after a few days of emails I was told the gps kept saying the camera was being moved hence the constant status reports. I was told to try a reset of the camera and after that made no change they did replace the camera, I was very impressed by their support and standing behind their product. But unfortunately when I put up the replacement camera in late July it immediately starting sending the constant status reports, going through the batteries again!! So it wasn’t just a single camera that had that issue. At this point I had to send them the camera logs and they still are trying to trouble shoot the camera(s) status report issue. If it wasn’t for the status reports eating up the batteries it would be great camera, I would use a solar panel but as I want my camera to be Inconspicuous and hard for people to see that are not suppose to be there I have yet to go that route and hoping for a fix for the status report issue.
Great
