I so like the metal buckle over a plastic one but it relies on the strap being strong enough to cinch tight. I leave my cams out year round and got about 12-18 months before the straps get brittle and just rip with mounting tension. I currently own four Spartan cameras with same straps and it happened to all of them. I decided to switch to a screw in style mount.

The Spartan Camera mounting strap is a good one. The metal buckle is what separates from others I have used. the others have been plastic and all of them have broken.
